Spotlight Message

Dear Geddes Elementary Parents and Community,

It is a pleasure to introduce myself, my name is Wendy Enriquez and I have been given the honor of serving and supporting the Geddes Community as Interim Principal for the 2021-2022 school year.  To give you a little background about myself, I have worked in Baldwin Park for the past 20 years.  I served the Geddes Community as a teacher of SEI, Intervention and Dual Language for 13 years. I then moved on to serve as a Resource Teacher at De Anza Elementary for 3 years and later moved on to serve as an Assistant Principal at Vineland for 4 years and also had the opportunity to serve Bursch Elementary for a short time frame.  I most recently served as Assistant Principal on Special Assignment for our Districts Educational Technology and Support department.  I was raised in the City of Baldwin Park and attended Tracy Elementary, Sierra Vista Junior High and graduated from Sierra Vista High School.  I received my Bachelor’s Degree and Teaching credential from UC Riverside and my Master’s degree from Concordia University.  Both of my parents retired from the Baldwin Park School District.  My husband works for our school district and my 4 children attend school in Baldwin Park as well.  As you can see most of my life has been spent in the city of Baldwin Park, I love Baldwin Park because this is my home.

I am truly excited and honored to have the opportunity to serve the Geddes Community once again.  I want to assure you that I will do my best to continue the outstanding leadership that Ms. Garcia established at Geddes and I will ensure that Geddes continues to excel Academically and Social Emotionally.  The entire Geddes family will ensure the physical and emotional safety of our students, parents, and staff at all times, as safety is our first priority at Geddes.  Our excellent custodial team has worked hard to prepare our school for the safe return of our students.  Our fabulous office staff has also been working hard to prepare for our back to school registration dates. If you were not able to attend any of our registration dates, please call our office as soon as possible.

Our wonderful Geddes Teachers are excited and eager to get back to prepare for the first day of school and to continue molding our Geddes Grizzlies minds for greatness.  Remember, our First Day of school will be Thursday, August 12th.  We will be returning to school in person for a full day of instruction.  I am looking forward to meeting you all on the first day of school and am eager to get back to school in person to continue providing our Geddes Grizzlies with the top rating education and emotional support that has always been provided by our Geddes Family.  As I mentioned before, Safety is a top priority for Geddes.  I would like you to know that we abide by the regulations and recommendations provided to us from the Los Angeles County Office of Education and our District office, to ensure the safety of all of our Geddes Community.  At this moment, face masks must be worn by all students, parents, staff, and visitors at all times, this regulation is including while students are on the bus.  If any changes to regulations come about, I will communicate this with our Geddes Community ASAP.  Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. I am here to serve and support my Geddes Community.

Respectfully,
Wendy Enriquez
